Identify the risks

The results of inspections and preliminary research arent’s always sufficient to prevent surprises during a tunnel renovation. Based on interviews, expert knowledge and desk research, the COB network has drawn up a checklist for the most common risks of failure.
The risk checklist is a tool for programming tunnel management and maintenance (long term), determining the scope of renovations, and planning regular major and minor maintenance. The list is based on damage patterns that may be visible in the tunnel. It indicates what the cause can be, what consequences can occur and how further inspection can take place. A specialist, for example from a COB expert team, can then specify what the scope of the further investigation should be, what data is available and what measures can be taken.
