Euro: Tun 2009

The conference aims to provide a forum for scientists, developers and engineers to review and discuss novel research findings and to assess the suitability and robustness of advanced computational methods and models for the design and construction of tunnels. EURO:TUN 2009 will be held at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, on September 9-11, 2009. The conference aims to provide a forum for scientists, developers and engineers to review and discuss novel research findings and to assess the suitability and robustness of advanced computational methods and models for the design and construction of tunnels. Bochum is centrally located within the Ruhr Area and is accessible by public transport from the international airports Düsseldorf, Dortmund and Cologne-Bonn. Conference topics cover current challanges in
• numerical analyses of tunnel excavation
• constitutive models for support materials, soils and rocks
• prediction of tunnel face stability
• parameter identification
• knowledge based methods in tunnelling
• sensitivity analysis and back-analysis
• stochastic methods and fuzzy logic
• life cycle analysis and maintenance
• risk analysis EURO:TUN 2009 is a follow-up conference after the first successful conference EURO:TUN 2007 held in Vienna, August 27-29th 2007. EURO:TUN 2009 is one of the Thematic Conferences of the European Community in Computational Methods in Applied Science (ECCOMAS). Notification of acceptance: February 2, 2009
